ARGO CALENDAR SNAPSHOT 🗓️

ART DOCENTS: WELCOME COFFEE & PAINT 🎨

Art docent classes are underway, and students are already excited and expressing their creativity through fun projects and different mediums. Parents interested in volunteering in art classes this year are invited to a Welcome Coffee and Paint session on Wednesday, September 10 at 8:45 a.m. in Room 18. Meet fellow volunteers, learn about the program, and enjoy a fun hands-on watercolor painting session. READY TO VOLUNTEER? GET CLEARED IN 3 EASY STEPS ☑️

The school year is in full swing, and teachers are excited to welcome parent volunteers. Whether it’s supporting art docent lessons, assisting in the makerspace, or leading cornerstone activities, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Saratoga Union School District requires all volunteers to complete a quick clearance process. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Download the Agreement Form from the Volunteer Information Packet

  • TB risk assessment signed by your healthcare provider - Visit the SUSD District Office TODAY before 1:30 p.m. for a free TB risk assessment (Keep reading below for more information)

  • Live Scan Fingerprinting - If you missed the on-campus fingerprinting during Back to School Night, you can still schedule your own appointment at:

TB RISK ASSESSMENT FOR SUSD VOLUNTEERS AVAILABLE TODAY!

As part of the SUSD Volunteer Clearance process, volunteers are required to have a TB Risk Assessment done every four (4) years. SUSD will be hosting assessments for eligible* volunteers who need a TB Risk Assessment Form completed OR renewed in order to volunteer. There is no cost to volunteers for this assessment.

*IMPORTANT: To determine if you are eligible and have NO RISK FACTORS, please review the TB Questionnaire on page 7 of the Volunteer Information Packet. 

If you have no TB risk factors, you may meet with the nurse for your TB Risk Assessment Interview. If you do have TB risk factors, you will need to consult your healthcare provider.

Please note: this is for TB Assessments only, no TB shots will be given.

 

A registered nurse will be available on the following days for SUSD volunteers who have no TB risk factors. This assessment is only for volunteers in SUSD.

  • Friday, September 5 – Student registration deadline

  • Saturday, September 6 – ARC forms teams using registration info

  • Monday, September 7 – ARC publishes team rosters

This year, ice cream is being provided by Sugar Mama Desserts. Student voting for flavors ends today. Check out the flavors our Argo Bears were voting on in this classroom ice cream ballot!

Library classes kick off this week, and students will be able to explore the library’s vast catalog on two brand new iPads made possible by the PTA and your generous donations!

As a member, you get to help decide on the programs, events, and activities we host throughout the year, and you will be part of a community that makes a difference for our students.

JUST DO IT DONATION

The Argonaut PTA invites all families to “Just Do It” and make a tax-deductible donation of $195 per student. Your generosity helps fund the programs, events, and activities that enrich the lives of our students, staff, and families.
