NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR 2026-2027

Please note that under Senate Bill 848, all school volunteers are designated as mandated reporters and must undergo annual mandated reporter and abuse prevention training.

 

Instructions will be provided by the District Office via email.  If you have not received this communication, please contact the district office at SUSDVolunteers@saratogausd.org.

SUSD Volunteer Clearance

Volunteers who work directly with students must undergo screening and authorization by the Saratoga Union School District. Refer to the requirements outlined here. 

 

Overview of the steps:

  1. Download and complete the agreement form found in the Volunteer Information Packet.
  2. Have a healthcare provider complete and sign your TB risk assessment (included in the packet or provided by your physician).
  3. Complete the fingerprinting process (instructions are provided in the packet).
  4. Complete the required Mandated Reporter and Understanding Boundaries training (instructions will be provided by the District Office via email)

The Argonaut PTA organizes several fingerprinting sessions on campus each year to simplify the registration process for volunteers. Keep an eye on our PTA newsletter and calendar for upcoming dates.

You can confirm that you are cleared to volunteer on the SUSD PowerSchool website. Log in and look for the message at the top of the page that reads Cleared to Volunteer. We hope it says “YES” in big green letters for you. See the sample screenshot below.
